"I have had the pleasure of working with Casper De la Torre. He volunteered for my organization, Nicu Spoon Theater. Casper is calm, reliable and easy-going, which makes him a pleasure to work with. I have enjoyed working with him so much that I have hired him for an upcoming show.
Casper brings vitality, enthusiasm, and diligence to every thing he commits to. It is with unbridled enthusiasm that I write this letter for such a talented young man. His artistry, coupled with his great work ethic, make him an asset to any endeavor."

"I have had the pleasure of working with Casper de la Torre on my last production of Arthur Miller’s “A View From The Bridge”. I hadn’t worked with him before so I wasn’t sure what to expect. We were working on a very low to non-existent budget for both costumes and set, which is what Casper, was in charge of. To add more of a challenge we were performing in a church. Not a theater in a church but in the church proper. As you can imagine this created all sorts of challenges for us.
I was very clear that I wanted the space to remain minimal to fight against the “realism” of the play and lack of it in the space. With the set we had certain givens due to the nature of the space, i.e. platforms to raise the actors up and black curtains to block out the altar and to focus the “stage”. As there was no place to hang lights the designer had to bear in mind the trees on which the lights were hung. Casper not only took all these things into account but found ways to enhance the atmosphere with clear yet unobtrusive touches such as the furniture he chose and the crates and sailor’s ropes that he hung, not only on stage but at the entrance to the theater/church.
His costumes were just as focused. I had the actors sitting on either side of the stage, which created a “problem” in that they wouldn’t be able to change completely to other costumes but needed to have pieces that could be adaptable when necessary. Casper understood this concept and was more then willing to enter into a dialogue about what was and wasn’t necessary for the characters. Also, his costumes were wonderfully inventive when it came to time period and place and his color palette was spot on.
The production turned out to be quite successful both artistically and critically and Casper was a large part of that success. Casper is a real gentleman, both patient and calm. He was clear-eyed and very amenable to my thoughts and input without being ineffectual. He also ran the show as a stage manager for a couple of nights when that person became ill. The highest compliment I can pay him is that I would work with him again, anytime and anyone who does will be lucky to have him."
